GCMAGIC Workshop Series: Glass Mosaic Art Workshop

Mosaic glass art is a captivating form of artistic expression that involves arranging small pieces of colored glass to create intricate designs. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, creating mosaic glass art can be a rewarding endeavor.

In this workshop, mosaic artist Andrea Castiglione will give a broad outlook on how to cut vitreous glass and teach you about adhesives and grouting. The two-part workshop will include:

• Mosaic Terminology: brief introduction on mosaic art and techniques
• Drawing into medium-density fibre (MDF) board
• Direct mosaic method onto MDF 300x300mm board
• Grouting, cleaning, hooks installation for hanging
• Showcase some mosaic works
  

Note that this workshop will be conducted in two separate days -- 12 July, Friday and 19 July, Friday -- to complete all the work needed to produce the final art piece.

At the end of the workshop, you will have your own piece of mosaic glass art that will be part of an exhibit at the Robina Community Art Gallery in August, organised by GCMAGIC.
