GDS Charity Golf Day

The Greystanes Golf Day is back! Please join us for a fun day. Upper Blue Mountains Rotary are providing a delicious Breakfast BBQ at 8am. Shotgun start is at 9am. There are only 17 golf carts available on the day so be quick to book at the Blackheath Golf Club Proshop proshop@blackheathgolfclub.com.au or call 02 4784 8406. Competitions include Proshot, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, First, Second and Wooden Spoon. Greystanes Disability Services (GDS) Leura are fundraising for a hydrotherapy lap pool for the Community Centre in Leura. GDS was originally known as the Greystanes Children's Home and was set up by Matron Elizabeth Macdonald OAM in 1958. GDS specialises in supporting people with intellectual disabilities and complex health needs. The Childrens' Home located 2 Grose Street Leura, is now a fully accessible community centre. The old hydrotherapy pool at the centre is damaged and the people GDS support have been told that they are unable to access the Katoomba Hospital Hydrotherapy pool. They now travel all the way down to St Marys to have use of a therapeutic and enjoyable activity.
