    Event description

What is biodiversity? The variety of plant-animal life in a particular habitat, think animals, plants, fungi down to microorganisms. Biodiversity is always changing - increasing with genetic changes and evolution and decreasing through habitat loss and extinction events. Biodiversity is key for resilience and an ecosystem's ability to thrive.

Terrestrial biodiversity in Queensland currently experiences major threats from land clearing and invasive plants and animals. This is the big why behind bush regeneration. Our goal in removing invasive species and planting native ones is to fight the battle against biodiversity loss.

This September Gecko Talk, Samantha Buzash and Zeena Scarrabelotti from Regen Australia will share their extensive knowledge and experience of bush regeneration and its role in preserving our biodiversity.

The talk will commence at 7 pm, so please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you have enough time for RSL check-in and to enjoy a meal or a drink in the Currumbin RSL creek front restaurant.
