    Event description

Join Gecko Environment Council and Linda Nordin of SMEC on a talk about the circular economy and what it might look like on the Gold Coast and beyond.

Have you heard of the Circular Economy but not quite sure what it means? Wonder how circular business models can help achieve sustainability targets, regenerate nature and create resilience in our community? Join Linda Nordin, a Circular Economist Specialist and Project Engineer with SMEC, experienced change maker, and the leader of the Circular Economy Club GC, to understand more about the circular economy and the future we could have by embracing this concept of eliminating waste, keeping resources in circulation, and regenerating nature.

We will talk about practical examples and discuss how to act more circular in your daily life. We’ll finish with a group exercise on the circular actions currently happening on the GC, to be added the global exercise that is happening during Circular Cities week (2 to 6th of Dec) initiated by Circular Economy Institute in London. Help us make Gold Coast one of the most active cities in the world!

Come curious to learn and share as we explore ideas for the Gold Coast!

The talk will commence at 7 p.m., so please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you have enough time to grab a drink or a snack and chat with the other attendees.
