Geckos and skinks of Auckland with Nick Harker
Event description
Kēreru, kākā and other large charismatic bird species often get their day in the sun, but habitat restoration and predator control also benefit our more reclusive native creatures.
Hear ecologist Nick Harker, president of the NZ Herpetological Society, talk about New Zealand's native lizard fauna and what we can do to give them a fighting chance. After his presentation there will be a chance of close encounters with a few living examples of what may one day be regular denizens of our parks, reserves and even back gardens across Tāmaki Makaurau .
