GeCo Greenthumbs - Wicking Beds

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

GeCo Greenthumbs is back!

We'd be delighted if you could join us for a workshop where you learn to grow your veggies - a little differently! Wicking beds are a water efficient method of growing and we're building them at GeCo! Join Sandra, our Garden Coordinator, as she takes you through different types of wicking beds, construction and materials and how the system works. She's happy to talk about all the good things that go with this sort of garden too - you'll have a chance to see our composting programme, talk about soil management and meet our resident worm friends!

The workshop is FREE - the aim is to understand how wicking beds work and if it's the method for you, to grow your vegetables. And what a great time to start!

Tea and Coffee will be provided.

What to bring:

- Your water bottle. The session is mostly outdoors so it *could* get warm!

- A hat - Tassie UV index is crazy-high!

- Sensible shoes - even if the sun's out we can't stop mud!

We look forward to seeing you!
