Geelong - CREATE University Discovery Day

The Discovery Days are free, welcoming campus experiences for young people and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds. They provide an opportunity to explore study options, experience university life firsthand, and meet Deakin staff and students. Participants can enjoy a guided campus tour and learn about university pathways, scholarships, equity and access options, student support services, and future study and career opportunities. CREATE (Centre for Refugee Employment, Advocacy, Training and Education) supports people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to rebuild and develop their careers through education, training and employment.

What is included?

• Guided campus tour and interactive activities

• Opportunities to meet and talk with Deakin students and staff

• Information about pathways, scholarships and student support

• Free transport to and from campus for participating groups

• Lunch and refreshments

Bus Transfer

Bus transport to Deakin University will be provided. Please specify if you require this when you order your ticket.

The bus departure location will be confirmed closer to the event and is expected to be a central public transport hub. Participants will be notified by email once details are finalised.

Child Safety

The safety and wellbeing of all participants is out priority. If young people are under 18, they must attend with a parent or guardian for the entire event.
