GEETA VIP AFTER PARTY AT ASTOR

Following the screening of the Geeta documentary on the big screen you will  have a wonderful opportunity to have one on one conversations with NEETU (one of the film's main protagonists) and the cast and crew of the film at the VIP After Party.

In addition to tasty hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, and soft drinks and a cool DJ set, we have a special treat for your ears - a live performance by NEETU and  L- Fresh the Lion!  Hear this dynamic duo live in an intimate acoustic performance of "Jaago". Premiering at WOMAD 2022, Jaago is not just a song, it is an anthem, a call to action;  it asks listeners to “Wake Up”, “stop turning a blind eye” and “stand up” for change.

NEETU is a women's rights campaigner and acid attack survivor. She believes that the opportunity for the biggest shift in thinking and collective action is with young people. The Wake Up Campaign is about supporting young people and communities to create the tools and knowledge they need to lead change.

Born & raised in South West Sydney, L-FRESH The LION is one of Australia's most important Hip Hop artists. From live music venues, stadiums & arenas, to the United Nations Headquarters in New York, his music is a powerful statement which speaks of purpose.

All proceeds from the after party will support NEETU'S participation in the tour of the film into cinemas and festivals, community and school workshops and the roll out of her Wake Up Campaign across Australia
