Geeveston Community Workshop - Induction Sessions
Event description
The Geeveston Community Workshop is part of GeCo, the Geeveston Community Centre. We have a well equipped Community Workshop with tools and machinery and a group of amazing supervisors who can help you identify a new hobby, remind you what you loved about woodworking, and troubleshoot difficult projects.Â
Access to the Workshop is done via an induction session (10:30am - 3pm)Â where you get signed off on various machinery and safety elements. After completing this 1-day session (Choice of 3 dates), the aim is to sign you off on:
- Table, Drop and Band Saw
- Morticer
- Thicknesser
- Jointer
- Hand drills and Drill Press
- Table, Spindle and Drum Sander
Induction also provides membership to the Shed for 12 months, via donation ($10 and up is appreciated). Donations can be made in person or via the Humanitix Portal when ordering your place.Â
Additional sessions are offered to introduce you to the Lathe and Hand Carving. We also run one-off workshops regularly on subjects such as DIY, Chopping Boards, Stoolmaking and Tool Maintenance (but to name a few!). To keep informed, don't forget to subscribe to us on Humanitix!
Please feel free to call us on (03) 6297 1616 should you wish to discuss this further.Â
