Join Nati Frinj visual artist Tarni Eldridge for a hands-on workshop exploring the vibrant and versatile world of gelli plate printing using acrylic paint. This playful, intuitive process is perfect for anyone wanting to reconnect with their creativity—whether you’re just starting out or already have an established art practice.
During the session, you’ll experiment with stencils, foliage, mark making, and layering techniques, creating richly textured prints inspired by the natural world. Gelli plate printing offers endless possibilities, encouraging freedom, discovery, and joyful expression.
This workshop is suitable for all ages and skill levels, and is a fantastic introduction to printmaking as well as a fresh approach for practicing artists looking to loosen up or try something new. By the end, you’ll have a unique collection of prints and a toolkit of ideas to take into your own creative practice.
All materials provided—just bring your curiosity!
There will bring a 30 min break during the session so bring a pack lunch to fuel your brain.
About the Artist:
Tarni Eldridge is a visual artist working primarily in Gelli plate printing and collage, drawing deep inspiration from the natural landscapes of Western Victoria. Her work explores the connection between nature and identity, capturing the shifting colours, textures, and rhythms of the region’s native flora and fauna.
Tarni is a recent recipient of a Creative Lab grant 2024/25 through ACT Natimuk. With a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Master’s in Creative Arts Therapies, Tarni brings both technical skill and a deep understanding of art’s potential for expression and healing. Her pieces invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the land and with themselves.
