What's it all about?

This webinar/workshop will focus on providing identity-affirming care and support to trans and gender diverse (TGD) folk with eating disorders, differences, and/or difficulties. It's specifically created for those working in allied health, mental health, and similar roles, as well as folks who work/have interest in these domains.

All aspects will be grounded in intersectional, person-centred, trauma-informed, de-pathologising, anti-colonial, anti-oppressive, anti-diet frameworks, informed by up-to-date research/evidence, lived experience, and community wisdom/knowledge. Resources to support post-webinar reflection and learning will also be provided to all attendees.

Key topics will include:

Gender diversity, eating disorders, and their interplay
Key stressors, risks, and protective factors
Relationship with body, embodied experience, and bodily autonomy
Strengthening assessment, exploration, understanding, and formulation
Intersecting identities and individual needs
Harm reduction, risk, and keeping folks safer
Unpacking mainstream/"gold standard" approaches
Trauma-informed, attuned, and responsive practice
Vital considerations for affirming care

How will it be presented, and what's the vibe?

The session will delivered live via Zoom, from 9:30am-12:30pm AEDT (Naarm-time) on Friday the 16th of October, 2026. It'll also be recorded, available on-demand for all registered attendees for 90 days post-live event. You can attend all of it live, part of it live, or just tune into the recording; whatever works best for you.

Folks' diverse experiences and insights are welcome and valued, and there will be space for questions, discussion, reflection, and such throughout! However, if you prefer to join without engaging in discussion, that's totally okay too.

The session will run for 3 hours, and we'll also have a couple of small breaks throughout to support pacing too :)

An optional assessment quiz will be provided afterwards, so that the webinar can count towards 3 hours of active CPD for folks who'd like it to.

Who is presenting it?

The webinar/workshop is created and will be presented by Lumen Gorrie (they/them). Lumen is a queer, trans, AuDHD+, chronically ill, disabled person living and working on unceded Wurundjeri land. They're a registered clinical psychologist and Board-approved supervisor, and are very passionate about all things neurodivergence, gender, queerness, eating disorders & differences, chronic illness, disability justice, advocacy, and systemic change.

Ticket prices

There are a range of different ticket prices, to ensure that events are financially accessible to anyone / everyone. You can claim the purchase as a business expense when doing your taxes, if the workshop is relevant to your work.

There's also a "second rodeo" option for folk who have attended this webinar previously (e.g. the 2024 iteration), but would like to re-attend to refresh their knowledge, and to catch the updated content (of which there is much!) 😊

Zoom links and recording access

All registered attendees will be able to access the session via a Zoom link. This link will be sent to you the day before, and on the morning of, the webinar (so hopefully it's easy to track down in your inbox!).

All registered attendees will have access to the recording for 90 days after the session ends; you'll receive this link via email (alongside any resources), so you can watch/review it at a time and pace that best suits you. I've no doubt it goes without saying, but please do not distribute or forward the link/recording or resources to others :)
