Zulfa Sakhiyya is Associate Professor at the English Department, Faculty of Languages and Arts, and the Director of Literacy Research Centre at Universitas Negeri Semarang. Zulfa is Fullbright Visiting Fellow at Ohio State University USA in 2023, and is member of the Indonesian Young Academy of Science (ALMI). She has a doctorate in education from the School of Critical Studies in Education, the University of Auckland with the support from the New Zealand ASEAN Scholars Award. Zulfa receives the Barr Mosenthal Award from International Literacy Association in 2022, and Early Career Scholar Prize for Best Paper 2023 from Critical Policy Studies journal. Zulfa’s research interests span from critical literacies, critical discourse analysis, and gender studies. Her research has been funded by KONEKSI DFAT Australia, UKRI, and Global Development Network. Her work has been published in journals such as Gender and Education; Globalisation, Societies and Education; Pedagogy, Culture and Society, Critical Policy Studies and many more. She is the chief editor of Education in Indonesia: critical perspectives on equity and social justice (Springer, 2023).
