Geography & Wine with Andrew: Blaufränkisch

Price $75 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

Blaufränkisch, perhaps more than any other grape variety, can make a strong claim to being the quintessential Central European grape. It goes by many names in the countries where it is traditionally cultivated: Lemberger in Germany, Kékfrankos in Hungary, Frankovka in Croatia, Frankovka Modrá in Slovakia. It is among the top grape varieties in all of the countries where it is traditionally cultivated, and produces wines that are extremely expressive of place and terroir.

We'll taste 8 wines made from Blaufränkisch from different regions, countries, and producers showing the versatility and potential of the variety in its different environs. Maps and some snacks will be provided.
