Georgie Neilsen - Solo

Georgie Neilsen is a singer-songwriter from the leafy suburbs of Brisbane/Meanjin, raised in a household full of music and performance. From the moment she could stand, she’s been drawn to the stage, and by 14 she was writing her own songs and performing in her parents’ band.

Straight out of highschool, Georgie formed and fronted 'Georgie Neilsen & The Growing Pains' and has since played countless shows across Meanjin and Naarm in various acts, developing a sound that blends the theatrical flair of cabaret with the raw edge of indie rock. A dream of Georgie's came true when she starred in Women In Voice '19 alongside a stellar cast of power house female performers. This memorable experience was the catalyst to her debuting her first self produced cabaret show, 'Love Without A Bullet Proof Vest', in 2020 for the Queensland Cabaret Festival, and in 2022 following up with a sold out show about 'The Rise of Suzi Quatro' at the Anywhere Theatre Festival. Her songwriting is honest and heartfelt, and her performances strike a balance between vulnerability, power, and playfulness.

This two-part solo show offers an intimate look into Georgie’s musical journey — from her earliest influences to the songs that define where she is now. Expect stories, stripped-back arrangements, and a few surprises along the way, all delivered with the warmth and charm she brings to every stage.
