    Event description

“Get Creative” workshop with qualified Primary and Creative Arts teacher Naomi Keenan.

Children will plan, draw, and then paint a picture on a canvas. This process is a developmental process that allows children to visualise what they want to see in their canvas, draw it first and then alter their drawing to suit their final outcome. When a child feels ready to translate that plan onto their canvas they can lightly trace their picture or adapt it onto their canvas with confidence and achieve an outcome they have worked towards from their conception, however usually with prompts.

Children can use a variety of paints from acrylic to watercolour and pastels.
Children then have the opportunity to experiment with food colouring and shaving foam painting. This is a very fun process and dries instantly with such a colourful and interesting presentation.

Finally children have the opportunity to build, make, and collage their own creations with a large variety of arts, crafts and recycled materials of their own choice. They usually thrive in this activity as their is no instruction as to what to make, however guidance and ideas are offered. Children usually love the opportunity to be their own creators. It is a very beneficial creative, developmental activity and builds a lot self confidence.

Be sure to book early as class sizes are limited for attention to detail.

Please bring own art smock or wear clothing that can get paint on them and bring a water bottle.
