Reconnect with Your Creative Side

Remember that feeling of getting lost in a creative project, where time just disappeared? You've always meant to get back to it, whether you’re a lifelong creative or someone who used to love high school art. This is your chance to reclaim that time.

Join Get Creative, a welcoming art group for anyone who wants to rediscover their creative spark. This isn't your typical art class or series. There's no pressure, no complicated art jargon, and no expectation of perfection. Just a supportive space to create, try, experiment, and do something for yourself.

You can come for the whole series or book for the weeks that suit you.

This is your time to:

• Carve out "you" time: Escape the daily grind and immerse yourself in a mindful, creative activity.

• Catch up with friends or make new ones: A low-key environment is the perfect place to connect with others.

• Try something new or reignite an old passion: We explore a different medium each week, from painting and printing to clay and collage.

• Celebrate the festive season with a few art activites in our December workshops.

The best part? It doesn’t matter if you're a seasoned creative or if you've ever said, "I'm not creative." This group is for everyone. Fiona, the Director of Strength Heroes, will guide you through each activity. She loves helping people find the confidence to create.

Young adults and Adults welcome.

What to Expect

Materials and supplies are provided. Just bring your "can-do" attitude and leave your idea of perfection at the door.

6.30 - 7pm - Arrive, warm up and settle in

Each week we will start with an art journalling exercise to do in your own time or grab some food from Floreat's eataries if you have been rushing around and have not had time to stop. BYO own food and alcoholic or non alcoholic drink.

7-8.30pm - Guided Weekly Activity

This is not a step by step class but a series of guided techniques and prompts for you to try and experiment with the weekly medium.

15 October 2025 - Intro to Art Journalling. Mindfulness on a page.

22 October 2025 - Watercolour Wonder. We never get tired of the magic of watercolour,

29 October 2025 - What's your Drawing Style? Transform a blank page with lines and shading,

5 November 2025 - Print Making. Delight in the reproductions you can produce from a single plate.

12 November 2025 - Clay Creative. Learn the basics of handbuilding clay.

19 November 2025 - Pastel Play. Blend, shade and colour.

26 November 2025 - Collage Creative. Cut and stick fun.

3 December 2025 - Acrylic Painting Play. Explore how to make stunning impressions with paint.

10 December 2025 - Paint Pen Designs. Discover how addictive paint pens can be.

17 December 2025 - Christmas Creative - we will create a lovely keepsake you will cherish for years to come,

8.30- 9pm - Wrap Up

We wrap up the activities and you can take off home or keep creating till we close the doors at 9pm.

We encourage everyone to create in the way that brings them joy. Each session is yours to do create however you want. If you have ideas on how you could use the materials and supplies you are welcome to create however you want. You are also welcome to bring your own supplies and materials.
