Get Growing! "Hugelkultur Garden Beds"
Event description
Do you have poor sandy soils? Or maybe compacted heavy clay soils? Hugelkultur, translated as ‘hill garden’, is a great way to use woody debris to create long term nutrient rich garden beds - fantastic for growing fruit trees and perennial veg. Using readily available resources, this cost effective method acts as a slow release fertiliser, mimicking the nature of a forest floor to build a fantastic growing medium.
In our 3 hour workshop, you will learn about the benefits of using Hugelkultur and how to construct cost effective garden beds using this method, in a hands on practical session. You will be able to take these skills and apply them in your own garden, transforming your garden into a highly productive growing space.
During our class we will provide a delicious morning tea in the beautiful Greenheart Garden, a working permaculture space in the heart of the Bouddi region.
