Get Shady Tree Giveaway

FREE NATIVE TREES TO PLANT IN YOUR YARD

City of PAE residents can receive a free, native, tree to plant in your garden through the Get Shady program.  This program aims to increase tree canopy, reduce urban heat and support biodiversity. 

Small native trees (one per household) will be available for collection on a first-come, first serve basis anytime between 1pm-3pm on Saturday June 14th 2025 at the Parks Library, Angle Park. 

Seven tree species will be available to choose from:

• Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha)
• Drooping Sheoak (Allocasuarina verticillata)
• Silver Banksia (Banksia marginata)
• Slender Cypress Pine (Calitris gracilus)
• Mallee Box (Eucalyptus porosa) 
• Native Apricot (Pittosporum angustifolium)
• Quandong (Santalum acuminatum)

Large to medium native shrubs will also be available for those with smaller gardens that cannot accommodate a tree. 

As this giveaway is only open to City of PAE residents, please bring along a form of ID such as driver's licence, rates notice, or bill showing your name and address.
