Get snug as a bug in our Bug Hotel Workshop!

Perfect for families, join Urban Grow for this fun, hands-on session that shows you how to build your own insect hotel using simple materials from around the home and garden. Building a bug hotel helps boost biodiversity by creating safe, dry habitats for beneficial insects like solitary bees, ladybirds and spiders - providing shelter, nesting spaces and protection from predators. These tiny helpers play a vital role in pollination and natural pest control, helping your garden thrive.

We’ll also explore easy, practical ways to attract more wildlife through companion planting, smart garden design and water-wise techniques.

You will also have the opportunity to explore the Concord Community Gardens, where you can see real-life examples of insect hotels and gardens designed to support these tiny helpers.

It’s interactive, creative and a great way to support local wildlife while building a healthier, more vibrant garden.

This workshop is delivered as part of City of Canada Bay Council’s Grow Our Green Spaces program. Bookings are essential, as capacity is limited. If the event is fully booked, Grow Our Green Spaces Garden Competition entrants will be given priority. Proof of entry may be required.
