Getting started with AI agents | Joondalup | Intermediate
Description
You already use AI to answer questions. Now it can do the clicking for you.
In 2026 ChatGPT, Claude and Grok all released AI agents. Give one a job, like “compare five competitors’ prices and put them in a spreadsheet”, and it opens a browser, visits the sites, builds the file and hands it back for you to check.
This 2-hour hands-on workshop shows small business owners how to start with AI agents safely. You will watch quick live demos in ChatGPT Work, Claude and Grok Bot, then build and run your own first agent task on your laptop before you leave.
What you will learn
What an AI agent is, and how it differs from the chat AI you already know
Live demos: competitor research into a spreadsheet, a messy receipts folder sorted and summarised, and a weekly website check that runs while you sleep
How to write a clear five-part brief so the agent gets it right first time
Which of the three tools suits your business, and what each costs in Australia
The safety rules that matter: what never to hand an agent, and how to keep approvals switched on
Australian privacy basics when AI handles business information
A 30-day plan to automate your first two or three tasks
Who it is for
Small business owners, sole traders and their admin staff who are comfortable with a laptop and a web browser. No coding needed.
Important: what you need to bring
You need a paid subscription to take part in the hands-on exercises. The free versions will not run agent tasks reliably.
Bring a Mac or Windows laptop with at least one of these set up and signed in before the session:
ChatGPT Plus (about A$35/month) with the ChatGPT desktop app
Claude Pro (about A$34/month) with the Claude desktop app
SuperGrok (US$30/month) with the Grok Bot app
One is enough. Prices are approximate and set by each provider. Unsure which to pick? Come and watch the demos first. You’ll leave knowing which fits your business.
After the workshop
Every participant gets an interactive online guide to keep. You can also continue the learning journey with subsidised 1:1 support from BUSY Business expert digital advisors.
