Event description

Do you have a business idea that you would love to bring to life? Join us at the Young Entrepreneurs Hub in September where we will be working to help you build and launch your own business.

Over two action-packed days, we will be working with high school students to build their own businesses as part of the Young Entrepreneurs Hub. With the program hosted at the WeWork Co-Working Space in Brisbane City, and facilitated by the expert BOP team, this is a great opportunity for young people looking to bring their business ideas to life.

For our program on the 20th and 21st of September, we will have a specific focus on helping students get their businesses ready to start selling to customers. Over the course of the two days, we will organise specialised masterclasses and expert mentors to work with students to plan out and refine their customer experience, explore how they can curate a community of early adopters, and also develop their digital and physical sales platforms.

Sales Platforms
The experience of buying a product from a brand is often just as important as how well the product works. Brands work incredibly hard to give their customers a unique experience when browsing and purchasing products from them both in person and online. As we explore sales platforms, we’ll be working with students to create seamless experiences for their customers when browsing and buying their products in person and online.

Early Adopters
When it comes to preparing a business for launch, it’s important to not just wait until launch day to go looking for customers. Great brands start building relationships with their customers long before they even think about launching. By doing this, brands can take their time building relationships with these customers so when they do finally have something ready to sell, these customers jump at the opportunity. We’ll be working with students to find their early adopters as we explore strategies to engage these key customers and build relationships with them as we prepare to launch.

Customer Experience
Once we have a sales platform, and a strategy to find customers early, we’ll turn our focus to look at what the experience looks like for our customers when they are ready to buy. In our customer experience session we'll be working to create a sales funnel for our businesses as we identify ways to engage target customers, and get them to a point where they are ready to buy our products or services.

Our Young Entrepreneurs Hub Program has been designed for high school students looking to bring their business ideas to life. Over the course of the two days students will be connecting with other like-minded young people, hearing from mentors in the field, and working with the BOP team as we guide them along their business journey.

Each day, students will start with a quick check-in with the BOP team before diving into a masterclass on the focus topic for the day. From there they will be free to work on their business as they apply their newfound knowledge and skills. Throughout the day the BOP team will check in with the students to provide support, and mentors will also be available to inspire and empower attendees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who Is This Program For?
This program is open to students in Grades 7-12 from across South-East Queensland. We typically only take up to 20 students per program to keep the group small.

Do I Need A Business Idea Already?
We do ask that
students have a business idea before entering the program. Whilst they don't need to have a product or service ready to sell just yet, we do ask that they have a clear idea on what they would like their business to do.

What Do Students Need To Bring?
Students will need to bring a device (preferably a laptop) to work on over the course of the program. In addition to this, we ask that they bring morning tea and lunch each day. All other equipment will be provided.

When Will The Program Run?
The program will run from 9am - 3pm on Tuesday the 20th and Wednesday the 21st of September 2022. Students are welcome to arrive from 8:30am and can stay until 4pm should they wish.

How Do Students Get To The Venue?
The program will take place at 310 Edward Street. There are plenty of public transport options nearby with Central Station across the road, and the Queen Street and King George Square Bus Stations a 5 minute walk away.
