A Serpent Flies at Pease Park
Description
What is this event?
Giant lantern puppet alert!
Casandra is near!
A shimmering, 26-foot flying serpent — and a harbinger of the impossible times we live in — Casssandra will visit Pease Park at sundown, right where Austin’s floods once reshaped the land. Under unseasonable weather and unthinkable headlines, she has arrived to meet her neighbors, share a bit of magic, and listen to what our community hopes for the future.
Join us for a playful, luminous encounter with Casssandra, featuring a short performance at 5:32 PM (sundown), followed by a Q&A where you can ask about her design, her story, and the upcoming lantern-making workshops in January.
Please note: Pease Park will have other events happening, and to help protect the lawn, capacity for this gathering is limited. RSVP is required.

¡Casandra está cerca!
Una serpiente voladora y luminosa de 26 pies —y una mensajera de los tiempos imposibles que vivimos— visitará Pease Park al atardecer, justo donde las inundaciones de Austin alguna vez transformaron la tierra.
