Ghost prints, object storytelling on fabric with Farfalla Funk
Description
I’m an artist and clothing maker, this workshop grew from my experience working with vintage and second-hand clothing. Wanting to feel more connected to the clothes and objects I worked with, I discovered print as a way to preserve their stories, give them a voice and create new meaning.
In this artist-led workshop, you’ll use natural dyes, pigmented ink, material and found objects to create X-ray-like prints on second-hand clothing. Together, we’ll explore storytelling, memory and material, while considering how making our clothes more personal can shift our relationship with what we keep, wear and discard.
Bring a second hand garment with a story and your curiosity. I will also provide a rack of clothes to choose from for those that don’t bring their own, all printing must be done on natural materials only; bamboo, cotton, hemp. Please wear clothes that you are happy to get dirty & and an apron if you have one.
