Gig at Ancient World - The Volume and Spyrious

Arguably Adelaide's best kept secret - the underground eclectic haven that is ANCIENT WORLD has affordable drinks, amazing and friendly owners and bar staff, shots, DJ's, cool bands, and an incredible artist decorated warm and inviting decor.  The wall decorations, art installations and stage area even include a chess board, and two way walkie talkie old time telephone (just for fun).

Now, just add two amazing bands. The unique, smooth and tight sounds of THE VOLUME will grace the stage at 9.15 pm. This is a band not to miss as they offer a unique style of progressive psychedelic stoner rock, with bass wah, deep and even vocals, world class beats and floaty guitar.

Doors open at 7 pm and the night will open with Adelaide's newest contribution to the Psychedelic Blues Sludge genre SPYRIOUS.  The band name is pronounced SPY - REE - US and the lyrics reflect somewhat cynically on the current world, but with a message of hope.   Spyrious are a three piece band with Pete bringing beats that will put you in a trance, Manfred making incredible blues runs, and songwriter Alayna on electric guitar and vocals offering an unusual vocal style to offset the dirgy, dark, deep and meaningful trio tunes.

Seeing these two bands out and about, and together is a rarity, and sure to be an entertaining and pleasant evening. Definitely $13 well spent.
