Event description

We have a very special night coming up at Mamma Chens. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Djirra Organisation - “A place where culture is shared and celebrated, and where practical support is available to all Aboriginal women and particularly to Aboriginal people who are currently experiencing family violence or have in the past.”

I really encourage all past Thurslayers, locals and people free on a Thursday night to come and support these amazing women who are gigging for a cause. Come and have a drink BYO food support a good cause and enjoy local live music in Footscray!

Juliet Sironi
comedian and MC never fails to bring a laugh and a sparkle to the stage, super beautiful human being with a side of cheeky.

Lish Skec is the fire in the poetry and spoken word of Melbourne. "Her voice gravels and soars like a goddess with a shopping trolley on the Nullabor. Published and a performer in experimental art and hybrid poetry ventures, in years to come you will revel in having seen her live” - Meg Dunn.

Poor Premenstrual Darling is a singer songwriter from Sydney now based in Melbourne for over a decade... “in my father’s footsteps, a local artist from Katoomba I mainly played bass for other people’s bands But behind the scenes I have been collating a wide selection of original songs. I released an album in 2021 called Where are we now? A collection of songs describing what I was going through on a personal level, divorce, moving interstate and my mother’s dementia. After travelling and playing in Seattle and Portland I am writing and recording a new album”.

Filthy McNasty’s have been capturing audiences with their passionate, energetic performances and scathing conviction for the past 10 months across Naarm. With almost nothing off limits lyrically or musically, they will suck you into a world of lust, love, rage and social change with their cutting-edge blend of classic hard punk, rap, goth, new wave, post-punk and beyond. Their highly debut single ‘Intimacy’ is now available to stream on all platforms.

Mamma Chen’s acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, the true owners of the land that we live and operate on. We would like to pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
