Event description

Discover the Giingan Gumbaynggirr Cultural Experience: Unveiling Stories embodied in the land and seascapes of Gumbaynggirr Country.

Yilaami
(come along) and embark on a captivating journey as you walk with our First Nations guides through the beautiful scenery of Gumbaynggirr Country.

Prepare to immerse yourself in a world where the past meets the present, and stories are written on the very land and seascapes that surround you.

Held monthly on the second Saturday of the month the Giingan Experience is an interactive afternoon consisting of a 2 hour informative tour with local, knowledgeable Aboriginal Guides. The Cultural Experience takes place at an important cultural site of the Gumbaynggirr people, the stunning location of “Niigi Niigi” (Sealy Lookout) nestled within the Orara East State Forest.

We work closely with our community and Elders in order to deliver this Award Winning Experience.

Recharge and feel new with one of the oldest continuing cultures, that has thrived here for millennia.

As you wander through the beauty of the forest and Coffs coastline, you will witness the vibrant tapestry of Gumbaynggirr culture through language, story, and the use of native plants before experiencing the rhythms of our wajaarr with the 'Giingan Yiiliwiyay Girrwaa' dancers.

By taking part in the experience, you are also making a difference for our community.

By purchasing a ticket, you will help support us at Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan Aboriginal Corporation, a not-for-profit organisation with language and cultural revitalisation programs. This is something we are truly passionate about - not only offering an amazing tourism experience, but also giving our community the opportunity to reclaim culture and identity; to be proud of who they are and what we are all achieving.

Come along and experience the wonders of Gumbaynggirr Country!
