Event description

GIMMY brings their newest album, 'Things Look Different Now' showcased LIVE to The Grace Emily Hotel, Adelaide.

The stage will be shared by friends... Los Palms and the Dainty Morsels.

In celebration of the release of GIMMY’s highly-anticipated debut album ‘Things Look Different Now’, the band will be hitting the road on their biggest Australian tour to date, throwing huge headline shows with epic support acts in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Bangalow, Crescent Head, Noosa and other towns near you! The project of Byron region female artist Gemma Owens, GIMMY (pronounced "gimmie") brings a diverse flavour to her music, with infectious surf-garage and indie-rock, through to danceable post-punk and new-wave, and glimpses of folk throughout her songs. Alongside her band consisting of Samson Radici (guitar), Kyle Aubrey (bass) and Barclay Israel (drums), GIMMY delivers a raw sound with heavily lyrical songwriting evoked by her powerful vibrato vocals that captivates listeners. Debut album ‘Things Look Different Now’ is out May 31st via Third Eye Stimuli Records.

In just a short few years, GIMMY has become renowned for their charismatic, high-energy live shows, scaling up and down the east coast with the likes of The Murlocs, TOPS, Floodlights, Maple Glider, Nice Biscuit and others, and even taking to the main stage at Splendour In The Grass in 2023. Now, with their debut album ready for its release, the band is excited to deliver their most exciting live shows yet.

“GIMMY’s new song sets a bold tone for their upcoming debut album. With Gemma Owens’ mesmerising vibrato and a mix of 80s synths and gritty guitar, it’s a sign of exciting changes ahead.” — Rolling Stone (AU/NZ)

"Off the back of an absolutely stacked 2023, GIMMY doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon." —  Triple J
