GINSIGHTS: Anita Heiss
Description
Join us for an inspiring evening with Dr Anita Heiss - internationally acclaimed, award-winning author, proud Wiradyuri woman, Professor of Communications at the University of Queensland, and Publisher at Large for Bundyi, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Author of more than 20 books spanning historical fiction, commercial women’s fiction, children’s literature and non-fiction, Anita is one of Australia’s most celebrated literary voices. She is also an Ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and the GO Foundation, championing literacy and opportunity for First Nations communities.
At this special Ginsights event, we’ll be in conversation with Anita about her latest novel, The Paradise Pact - a heart-warming, laugh-out-loud story of friendship, resilience and second chances. The discussion will also explore the remarkable breadth of Anita’s work, from frontier-war histories and powerful non-fiction to bestselling rom-coms featuring Aboriginal women at the centre of the story.
The evening will feature a formal Q&A, followed by the opportunity to meet Anita over cocktails and continue the conversation in a relaxed and intimate setting.
Our bookselling partner, Paperchain Bookstore, will have copies of The Paradise Pact available for purchase, with a book signing by Anita on the night.
To mark the occasion, Olims Bar & Bistro will be serving a signature cocktail featuring Big River Spirits, alongside a Big River G&T and its full range of food and beverages.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from one of Australia’s most influential authors, enjoy great conversation, and connect with fellow readers.
This informal reader/writer conversation co-sponsored by Big River Distilling Co, Canberra Writers Festival and MARION.
