Description

Step into the dark side of the internet with bestselling thriller author Ashley Kalagian Blunt.

On Thursday 3 September, Ginsights presents an evening of conversation, cocktails and crime fiction featuring Ashley Kalagian Blunt and her gripping new tech-noir thriller, Like Follow Die.

A shattering and provocative psychological thriller, Like Follow Die explores the darkest corners of the internet and the fierce bonds between parents and children. The Australian calls it "a cut above page-turning thrillers; it is meaningful and provocative, challenging readers to reckon with the twisted world we live in today."

Ashley is the #1 bestselling author of Dark Mode and Cold Truth, internationally published psychological thrillers that have earned critical acclaim and award recognition. Her work has been shortlisted for the 2024 ABIA General Fiction Book of the Year, the Ned Kelly Awards for Best Crime Fiction, and the Danger Award for Debut Fiction.

A sought-after speaker and storyteller, Ashley has appeared at Bloody Scotland, Sydney Writers' Festival, Brisbane Writers' Festival, and Newcastle Writers' Festival. She is also a Moth StorySLAM winner, co-host of the James and Ashley Stay at Home podcast, and a writing workshop facilitator. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Ashley has lived and worked in South Korea, Peru and Mexico before making her home on Gadigal Country.

The evening begins with an engaging live Q&A, followed by the opportunity to meet Ashley over cocktails and enjoy informal conversation. Event bookseller Paperchain Bookstore will have copies of Ashley's books available for purchase and signing.

To complement the evening, Olims Bar & Bistro will be serving a signature cocktail featuring Big River Spirits, alongside a Big River G&T, with their full food and drinks menu also available throughout the event.

Whether you're a crime fiction devotee, a true crime enthusiast, or simply looking for a fascinating night out, Ginsights with Ashley Kalagian Blunt promises an unforgettable evening of stories, suspense and spirited conversation.

All are welcome to come along to join this informal reader/writer conversation sponsored by Canberra Writers Festival and supported by Big River Distilling Co, Mercure Canberra and MARION.
