Girl Friday's songs evoke a sense of nostalgia, whimsy and the realisation that people have felt and sung about the same things forever and a day. Drawing inspiration from the timeless blues and jazz of the 1920s and 30s with a hint of 60s folk her rich voice and heartfelt lyrics transport the audience to a different era while still being firmly rooted in the modern day.

"Girl Friday collects and reshapes the most enduring sounds of the 20th century, turning the familiar into something wholly her own. In a world consumed by the bombast of ambition and insincerity, the subtle surety of Girl Friday and the warm intimacy of her songs is one of the most welcome discoveries a listener can make."
