Girls Can Do Car Maintenance
Event description
Council is teaming up with Rangiora Motor Group and Zonta to run a FREE evening session for women to learn more about car maintenance, covering the things we should all be doing to keep our cars in tip-top shape. (Zonta International, founded in 1919, is a global organisation dedicated to building a better world for women and girls.)
Judith Paget, the President of Zonta Waimakariri, is pleased to see Zonta supporting the event.
The event is a local continuation of a series that’s been successfully run in Ashburton and Timaru and will be a first for Waimakariri.
“It’s a free event, and there'll be places for 40 women, says Council’s Road Safety Coordinator Peter Daly. Mr. Daly said similar courses in Ashburton and Timaru had been hugely popular.
“Attendees will learn the basic things we should all be doing to keep our cars in top shape and as safe as they can be, all delivered in a safe and friendly environment.”
"Snacks will be provided for those who attend as we know it's happening at dinner time, and there will be a quiz with prizes at the end of the event to see what people have learned."
