Girls in Gis Sacramento-California Event

Price $20 – $200 USD + BF + Sales tax Register

Event description

Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are!

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events.  They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.

You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event.

GIG S-Texas Guest instructors:Alyssa Walls & Jenna Garcia

Alyssa Walls is a brown belt at Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has been training since 2018. She is passionate about her team’s growing women’s program and encouraging female athletes who are new to the sport. Alyssa loves to compete. She has competed in over 30 tournaments and is a Master World Champion, 2 time Pan American Champion, and 3 time American National Champion. Her favorite parts of competing are making new friends from across the country, and giving heavier opponents a run for their money in the open class division. Outside of jiu jitsu, Alyssa is a small business owner, artist, and dancer.

Jenna Garcia is a black belt in Brazilian JIu Jitsu. She started jiu jitsu at 9 years old with her dad and immediately fell in love with the sport. Jiu jitsu led her to wrestling and although she loves wrestling, there’s just something special about putting on a gi. To her, jiu jitsu is about balance in life and the community you build with the ones around you. She is an avid instructor in the Sacramento area at Nine16, 10th Planet Sacramento and Premier Martial Arts.

COST: $20 Min Donation. All Donations Welcome.
