Girls on the Run FilmFest 2026
Description
Join the Advisory Council of Girls on The Run Montgomery County at FilmFest on February 26, 2026!
GOTR FilmFest is a night of independent short films celebrating girls and women. It will also provide the opportunity for the community to learn more about Girls on the Run and its impact.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run Montgomery County, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Film Line-Up (Recommended viewing ages 13+)
FIRST DOWN is a gripping documentary short film about the underdogs in the first all-girl's tackle football league in the U.S. This band of misfits and outcasts compete for the title while tackling their struggles both on and off the field.
Forward Is a Pace is a powerful short documentary spotlighting a diverse group of women training for the inaugural Every Woman’s Marathon. More than a running story, it’s a celebration of resilience, purpose, and the strength found in movement. From first-time runners to seasoned athletes, these women challenge outdated definitions of what it means to be a runner, proving that pace is personal and progress is powerful.
Tough for a Girl documents a new generation of female athletes is taking shape in Norwalk Public Schools - this time on the wrestling mats. National Champion Callie Gilchrist and High School All-American Rylee Donohue are looking to lead that next charge out of Norwalk.
MORE TO BE ANNOUNCED
We will also have the opportunity to hear from Girls on the Run alumni and volunteers about their experience and the impact of GOTR's programs!
