Schedule
8:45 – 9:30am — Check-in (registration is mandatory for all riders, guides), add a Clif Bar to your pack.
9:30am — Guide meeting
9:45 am — Safety announcements, group photo
10:00 am — Break into groups by level, roll out to our favorite Santa Cruz trails
12:00 – 3:00pm — Ride ends. Return times will vary by group. Refuel with food and beverages available at Stockwell.
Ride Levels:
At registration, you will be asked for your ride level. See Riding Levels OR, take our Ride Level survey. IMPORTANT: If you are new to Girls Rock, select a level down from what you might ride. If you are a guide, you must select a level down from what you normally ride. Girls Rock rides are designed for a social pace, which should be easy for all. Fatigue can be a factor that leads to injury, and we strive to keep all riders and volunteers safe.
Demos:
Sorry, no demos are available for this ride. Please check out our local bike shops to inquire about renting a demo bike.
Location & Parking
We will meet at Stockwell Cellars. Please make our event more sustainable by biking or carpooling to the event!
Important Reminders
When you register, you sign a waiver releasing us from liability. Volunteers: Please register with Girls Rock organizers for ride-day roles like guiding, set up, merch sales, etc.
-Be prepared for our ride! Read What to Expect. Please note, many trails have exposure to poison oak. We recommend dressing appropriately.
-Health: If you don’t feel well, please stay home.
-Safety: Mountain biking is a dangerous sport. When you come riding with us, we assume that you have reviewed risks and accept responsibility for your personal safety. Learn more. Bring your helmet, eye protection, water, sunscreen/long sleeves/long socks, gloves to protect yourself; and a mountain bike in good working order
-Prepare to ride: MTB takes energy and strength, so eat breakfast, pack water and snacks for your ride with us.
-Minors/Riders under 18: Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. The chaperone will ride in the same group as the minor. Both the minor and chaperone should register as riders.
-Don't be sorry! Bring locks to secure bikes after the ride; do not leave valuables unattended
