Brisbane Ballet’s Giselle reawakens the ultimate Romantic masterpiece in the fog-shrouded Schwarzwald. The timeless story of love, betrayal, and transcendent forgiveness unfolds through exquisite classical technique and the haunting Wilis — now set deep in the misty Black Forest of 1800s Germany.
Striking cubist-inspired set designs by OMA and elegant neoclassical costumes frame the original choreography with fresh atmosphere and Rhineland intensity. Virtuosic pointe work and flowing port de bras meet eerie adagios and swelling waltzes, delivering intimate chills and pure emotional force.
This is Giselle as it has always deserved to be felt: timeless, yet thrillingly alive.
