Event description

Nau mai ki te Puhinui Regeneration Project!

SBN and our partners are looking forward to seeing you at our Connect with Te Puhinui Give Back Day. We will be kicking things off at 9.30am at Aerovista Place Reserve in Wiri. We finish at 12.30pm for lunch.

This is an opportunity to experience the warm manaaki (hospitality) of the Awa Rangers, the local rangatahi working on the ground to regenerate the Puhinui catchment. Come and learn about the mahi these young people are supported to carry out through your contribution to the Puhinui Regeneration Project.

These sessions support our partners to experience the unique culture and place-based nature of this project.

We run these experiences each marama (month) on the koha (give back) days to acknowledge and celebrate the wisdom of Te Puhinui and the provisions of Tangaroa and Hinemoana - the Atua of the ocean. A focus of these connection days is to practice observing tohu (environmental indicators) for ora (wellbeing) and get stuck in to regeneration mahi.

This is a morning for grounding and inspiring openness and curiosity. It is a really special experience. We can’t wait for you to be part of it.

Remember to bring gear for all weather, covered shoes, and a water bottle. Kai is provided.
