GLAMSLAM is a day for all those working in or with Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums to come together, talk about pressing issues facing cultural institutions and share their work.
This year, we at the Australian Centre for Public History are delighted to be hosting GLAMSLAM in partnership with the Australian Museum.

Keynote by Kim McKay, AO, Director and CEO of the Australian Museum
'Collective Care: a community-first approach to disaster response from Bondi to the Pacific' panel discussion with Shannon Biederman, Senior Curator, Jewish Museum, Dr Charlotte Feakins, University of Sydney and Melissa Malu (Head of Pasifika Collections and Engagement at the Australian Museum) This discussion will explore how institutions and communities are responding to emergencies through collecting practices and new trauma informed guidelines for disaster preparedness and recovery.
Dr Mariko Smith, Senior Specialist (Research and Publications), First Nations, Australian Museum, on a new anti racist methodology for First Nations curatorial practice
Lightning Talks! 4 minute talks by specialists across the GLAM sector showcasing new research, projects, pressing issues and exhibitions. These give attendees an insight into current work and challenges, raising questions for us to consider and discuss
GLAMJAM! A participant driven, facilitated discussion focused on topics suggested by members of the GLAM sector.
