The enigmatic Naarm (Melbourne) trio radiate a psychedelia rendered with cyclical riffs and dizzying melodies. Recorded at the beginning of 2020, Mirage is their debut release, showcasing an inclination for cosmic instrumentation, eastern scales and Kraut-pervaded polyrhythms, issuing four compositions that lend from a profusion of sounds and influences. Upon release, the EP oozed onto the turntables of Gilles Peterson, The Gaslamp Killer, and Trevor Jackson, with the single ‘Taurus’ being spun on BBC6’s ‘Fantastic Beats, and featured on Jayda G’s DJ Kicks release.
