Ahead of our 2026 program launch, catch this special Spring glass blowing demonstration by Craft and Design members, Nadina Geary and Dan Venables as part of the 2025 Southside Open Studios.
Watch our artists shape 1100°C glass right before your eyes in a behind-the-scenes look at their creative practices. Be inspired and perhaps book to join a glass workshop with Dan and Nadina as we launch our 2026 classes and programs.

ABOUT Nadina Geary
Craft and Design Associate Member, Nadina Geary is a glass artist and Glassworks Studio Artist specialising in blown and cold worked glass. A graduate from the ANU School of Art Glass Workshop, her creative practice began in textiles, fashion and graphic design. Nadina’s work explores themes of self-image and identity. Her Aura vessel is inspired by the form of the calla lily and technical explorations. She currently works as a teaching artist at the Canberra Glassworks, sharing her passion for glass.
ABOUT Dan Venables
Craft and Design Associate Member, Dan Venables is a multi disciplinary artist specialising in blown glass, forged metal and knife making. An Honours graduate from the ANU School of Art Glass Workshop, his creative practice explores the optical and refractive properties of blown glass. From his forgery, Dan creates custom, high end culinary knives, and a wide range of tools using high carbon steel and reclaimed timber from around Australia. He currently works as a teaching artist at the Canberra Glassworks and will be showing at the 2025 Undercurrent Market in late November.
