Glass, Glitter & Christmas Cheer! Make Your Own Fused Glass Ornaments!

Add a little sparkle to your holiday season! Come play with colorful glass, explore the magic of kiln-fired art, and create two one-of-a-kind Christmas ornaments or sun catchers in this fun, hands-on workshop.

Have you ever wondered how tiny pieces of glass become beautiful works of art? In this class, you'll discover how glass transforms in a kiln as you experiment with a delightful assortment of materials, including colorful glass frit, delicate stringers, sheet glass confetti, and tiny frit balls. Arrange, layer, and combine these materials to create your own unique designs!

Your instructor will demonstrate how the different glass materials work together, introduce you to the basics of kiln firing, and guide you as you design and assemble your own creations. You can come with your own ideas or find inspiration in examples provided by the instructor. No previous glassworking experience is necessary—just bring your imagination and a willingness to play!

You'll make two 2.5" × 2.5" glass ornaments or sun catchers, perfect for decorating your home, hanging in a sunny window, or giving as special handmade gifts. We'll use a technique called tack fusing, which leaves the surface beautifully textured, allowing light to bounce off the glass and bring your colors and patterns to life.

Once your designs are complete, the instructor will fire them in the kiln. Because glass needs time to cool safely after firing, your finished pieces won't be ready to take home that day. You can pick them up at the end of the following week's class, or arrange another pickup time with the instructor.

Class details

• Materials: Colorful glass materials and clear sheet glass are included

• Experience: Beginners welcome; no previous glass experience needed

Age requirements: Adults 18 and over are welcome. On the Sunday class only, well-behaved children over 12 may attend when accompanied by an adult.
