Event description

Deakin International Affairs Society and Oaktree Australia presents Global Gains: Networking for Change.

Bringing together a panel of expert guest speakers from the international affairs and sustainable development sectors, you are invited to come along and join the conversation, through a panel discussion and Q&A session with our guest speakers.

Following the interactive discussion with our panel, the evening will conclude with an opportunity to network with other likeminded people. Food and non-alcoholic beverages supplied.

WELCOMING TO OUR PANEL...

    • Mannie Kaur and Sheeba Singh | Founders of Veera Brave Girl
    • Michael Simon | International Program Lead at Monash Sustainable Development Institute
    • Bardie Barclay-Sutton | International Development Project Coordinator at Save the Children & Oaktree Alumni

All funds raised through ticket sales for this event, will go directly to Oaktree's flagship fundraising campaign Live Below the Line.

Live Below the Line is Oaktree’s flagship fundraiser campaign where we challenge participants to live without for 5 days from the 15-19 May. There are five lines to navigate: Energy, Food, Shelter, Technology and Waste. This will ultimately help us raise money and awareness of the impacts of poverty and inequality and will go directly towards Oaktree’s Youth Solidarity Fund (OYSF) which provides youth-led organisations, groups and grassroots movements across the Asia-Pacific with access to flexible funding and support to enable and empower youth-led change. By taking part, you're championing  a movement to tackle injustice and create a fairer world for all.

Where do you draw the line?

Registrations close on Friday 5th of May at 5pm.

Please contact Oaktree's Community Fundraising and Events Manager to advise us of any accessibility requirements, special requests or questions about the event at kelsey.mcgowan@theoaktree.org
