Continuing the conversation - local and global ideas in ending violence against women.

Workers in the sexual violence, women's health and wellbeing and domestic violence sector who took part in the recent 'Global Rights for Women forum' at Logan are invited to join us online for a series of practice conversations.

Facilitated by Melissa from Global Rights for Women, this series in a opportunity to continue to deeply explore the topic areas discussed at the forum with colleagues in a safe and supportive environment. The series will be led by the people who engage with the series so we ask that you contribute on enrolment by letting us know what you would like to delve into more deeply.

The series will be delivered online, using Zoom and we invite you to engage fully, with cameras on and a willingness to participate in breakout groups. The series is open only to people who attended the Global Rights for Women forum at Logan in March 2023 and will focus on topics delivered at that forum.

This is a practice conversation series - the expectation is for participants to join all sessions.

Participants who engage with the practice series will build on their learning from the Global Rights for Women Forum: 

Be inspired and challenged by what’s happening on the world stage. 
Inspire and challenge others by sharing what’s happening in their own context. 
Connect, value and learn through engagement with colleagues in a safe and supportive environment.
Take away inspiration, learning and new ideas for preventing, responding and ending violence against women.

About the facilitator

Former executive director of Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs (DAIP), also known as “the Duluth Model.” Prior to working in Duluth she was the executive director of Advocates for Family Peace (AFFP) for 17 years, a local domestic violence advocacy program. She has also led and organized two Coordinated Community Responses (CCR) to address domestic violence in Minnesota, as well as co-facilitating groups for men who batter and women who use violence.
