~~~~~
Shindig Quattro have been performing their own blend of European folk, jazz and world music around Hobart since 2021. Formed by UTAS Conservatorium graduates Helena Markovitch (voice), Crystal Livermore (bass) and Aaron Entresz (guitar) they have honed their repertoire to reflect their varied cultural backgrounds as well as blending in music from other parts of the world. “Music sans frontiers” is one way you could describe their approach.
Audiences are often struck by the fun and humour this band radiates from the stage. And as much as they are a bunch of kindred spirits they are also wonderfully skilled musicians. They will have you swaying wistfully to a French Chanson one minute, in a Rebetika induced trance the next and before you know it you’ll be dancing to a Finnish polka.
For this occasion they will be joined by some of Hobart’s best musicians - Dave Elliston (Accordion), Derek Grice (Clarinet) and Matthew Ives (Drums). Expect to be taken on a cross-cultural journey from France to Ukraine, Greece to Finland in fine musical style!
