Australia is rolling out mandatory climate-related disclosures under AASB S2 – a major shift that will require many large organisations to include climate reporting in their annual financial statements. It’s been described as one of the biggest changes to corporate reporting in a generation, introducing a new regime with significant technical requirements and director sign-off.

There are three main groups and relevant reporting timelines listed below.

Preparing early makes things much easier, and many organisations start the year before their first reporting period to build systems, collect data, and strengthen governance so they’re not scrambling later.

Green Music Australia in partnership with Earthed, invite you to an hour-long online session for organisations that meet or are approaching the reporting thresholds, covering:

What AASB S2 is fundamentally trying to achieve:

The four key focus areas
The mindset and approach to take
The scale of reporting required - almost 150 separate disclosures
A real-life music industry example demonstrating the process of identifying and assessing a climate-related risk, analysing its financial impact, and developing governance, metrics, strategy, and disclosure frameworks in line with AASB S2.
Practical next steps to get ready

You’ll also receive:

Mandatory Climate Reporting Overview
Director’s Duties Cheat Sheet
An opportunity for Q&A and follow up session options

Who Should Attend?

AASB S2 compliance will involve many stakeholders across your business as you implement the required climate risk governance process.

For this introductory session, we recommend participation from those who will be more hands-on in the implementation - for example, sustainability manager, finance manager, risk or strategy manager, legal/compliance manager, and HR manager.

It can also be helpful to include someone responsible for coordinating board and director engagement, such as a company secretary or governance lead.
