About the Workshop

This free workshop will help you become more confident in advocating for your child to participate on the same basis as their peers throughout their school day.

We know that inclusion is more than just getting through the front gate of the regular school. It involves the opportunity to participate in rich learning and engage in the Australian curriculum alongside classroom peers.  It also involves students with disability having support and access to valued roles so they can make friends and develop a sense of real belonging in their school community.

At this workshop you will:

  • Identify the essential features of school inclusion and why inclusion matters
    • How curriculum inclusion in the regular class is possible
    • Inclusive teaching strategies
    • Supports in the playground and across the whole school that make a difference to friendships and school belonging
    • How to nurture your child’s interests and strengths to build belonging
