Gold Coast Maha Shivratri

The Gold Coast Hindu Cultural Association (GCHCA) warmly invites everyone to join the Maha Shivaratri Celebration at the Broadbeach Cultural Precinct on Wednesday, 26th February 2025. Come and partake in this auspicious occasion to receive the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Maha Shivaratri honours the grace of Lord Shiva, the First Guru and source of the yogic tradition. On this night, the planetary alignments create a powerful upsurge of energy within the human system, promoting physical and spiritual well-being.

This sacred festival falls on the 6th night of the dark Phalgun every year. Devotees traditionally fast, perform abhishekam on the Shiva Linga using milk, water, and flowers, and chant the mantra "Om Namah Shivaya". The day signifies the divine convergence of the powers of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti.

We kindly request devotees to bring flowers suitable for offering to Lord Shiva.
