Event description

Golden Evenings of Film & MusicΒ

Australia’s biggest regional short film festival is on tour and headed for a small town near you!

The Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival will close their β€˜Golden Evenings’ regional tour on Sunday 28 July 2024 at the Gympie Music Hall at the Australian Institute of Country Music commencing at 4pm. An afternoon of short films and live music is planned that is guaranteed to warm up your winter.

The evening will feature live music from β€˜Jack Raymond’. Drawing on influences from yesteryears aged storytellers, Raymond’s songs are honest and eclectic but with slightly a bit more optimism. Jack is a regular on festival programs such as Agnes Blues & Roots and The Gympie Music Muster, his voice packs a seriously raw and powerful punch.

Then get comfortable and enjoy a feature-length collection of short films from all over the world, hand-picked by the experts at Heart of Gold in what is set to be a truly epic journey of storytelling. As our special encore celebration event, the lineup of films for the closing night of the Golden Evenings tour will have some unique surprises.

The Golden Evening regional tour includes the following events:

  • Friday 7 June - Gympie, 6pm at AICM Channon Street Gympie
  • Saturday 15 June - Rainbow Beach, 6pm at Rainbow Beach Community Hall
  • Saturday 6 July - Kandanga, 6pm at Kandanga Public Hall
  • Friday 12 July - Pomona, 6pm at Majestic Theatre
