GOLDHEIST & The Cranky Bankers: EYES OF LOVE Album Launch Tour GLEN INNES
Event description
GOLDHEIST and her stellar band, The Cranky Bankers, will be touring EYES OF LOVE throughout 2022, including a concert at The Chapel Theatre Glen Innes on Sunday afternoon 26 June, 2:00pm.
GOLDHEIST will be performing alongside her fabulous band - Anthony Walmsley (guitar), James Haselwood (bass), Brookie Gillett (vocals) and Katy Haselwood (vocals) - her songs arranged for lush three-part harmony and a rich tapestry of instrumental sounds.
From the sails of the Sydney Opera House, to the caves of Naracoorte, the sounds of GOLDHEIST have echoed powerfully across the stages and streets of metropolitan, regional, and outback Australia.
In the wake of mass cancellations, crippling restrictions and disappointed dreams as the entertainment industry struggles to keep it’s head above COVID-infested waters, GOLDHEIST has brought to bear the healing force of music with the release of her new album EYES OF LOVE in January 2022.
Partially funded by Arts North West (MicroGrant), this album features a rich tapestry of instrumental sounds and influences, supporting and embellishing her poignant, incisive storytelling. At times vulnerable and others, defiant, GOLDHEIST possesses a unique ability to create musical portraits of Australian life, from the inner city streets to the wide open spaces of her New England heartlands - all through the eyes of love.
This fierce yet delicate body of work is a celebration of connection, imperfection, and the unexpected joys of best-laid plans gone awry.
REVIEWS:
Goldheist’s music keeps you on your toes. There are moments where the sounds and themes are so universal and accessible you feel like you’re walking into a familiar, comfortable room. Then there are moments where her delivery is so peculiarly unique that you might feel you’re stepping into a place you’ve never encountered before. “Eyes Of Love” is an enchanting journey through the quirky and familiar that puts Goldheist’s musicianship, vocal mastery, and songwriting prowess on full display.

Her previous album, Realm (2017), had an electro-pop feel to it, and for Eyes of Love, GOLDHEIST has embraced a more earthly acoustic approach. It gives the songs a beautiful directness and amplifies the emotions. There is a delicacy to the production, where the raw stripped back nature of it allows the intimacy of Hester’s songs to shine through. They are touching, they are tender and utterly heartfelt.- Bruce Baker (The AU Review) [read more...]

I feel like I just walked through a gallery of amazing impressionist paintings and all the colours attached themselves to me...
