A little more about our guests:

Ruby Donohoe is an interdisciplinary performance-maker whose work offers defiant acts of sensitisation and is rooted in the politics of encounter. With a background in contemporary performance and a body-based practice, her work investigates humankind’s simultaneous radical alienation from and radical intimacy with the personal body and the ways in which this paradox is an important hinge in unpacking our conceptions of ‘other’. Her performance work proposes reimaginings for this relational phenomenon and the ways in which the live act implicates both audience and performing bodies as mutual co-creations. Ruby works with text, choreography, sculpture, installation, and participatory practices to create work for theatre, gallery, and digital spaces. Ruby is a founding co-director of interdisciplinary arts collective IN | artist run initiative based out of The Old Lock Up (Maroochydore) co-run with June Sartracom, Sharna Barker, and Amanda Bennetts.

Megan Williams is a curator and writer with over fifteen years experience in programming and management roles across the university art museum sector. Since 2016, Megan has been Manager and Curator of USC Art Gallery where she has worked on solo projects with artists including Michael Cook and Kim Guthrie, and group exhibitions including ‘Sites of Connection’ and ‘Come Close’. Prior to joining USC, Megan worked at QUT in a range of curatorial and programming roles across QUT Art Museum, the William Robinson Gallery, the Creative Industries Precinct and The Cube. Megan has written numerous catalogue essays and contributed to monographs on artists Michael Cook, Arryn Snowball and Judith Wright.
