Firstport in Orkney: Good Ideas Start Here
Description
We'd love to see you at Good Ideas Start Here!
Firstport is coming to Orkney for a free event. This event is for anyone with an idea that could make a positive difference in their community and want to explore what they could do with it.
What to expect
Good Ideas Start Here is an interactive workshop for potential and existing social enterprises, as well as community organisations looking to become more sustainable.
Whether you're exploring a new idea or growing an existing project, you don't need to have everything figured out. That's exactly what this event is for!
Featuring Karen Scholes, Director of Scholes Chartered Accountants and Clare Gee, Development Senior Manager at Voluntary Action Orkney alongside the Firstport team: Relationship Manager Christine Fairbairn, Business Advisor Charles Morgan and Investment Manager Lauren Scott.
During the event, you'll:
learn more about social enterprise and the support available through Firstport
hear the story of Orkney Dance and Fitness, showcasing how organisations can access support through Firstport's grants and investment support
gain insights from local guest experts covering key topics including governance, sustainability and finance
explore funding opportunities and practical next steps for your organisation or idea
connect with other local changemakers, community groups and aspiring social entrepreneurs
The workshop is designed to be welcoming, informal and informative, offering plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share ideas and learn from others' experiences.
Lunch will be served on the day, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when asked in the registration form.
Please email info@firstport.org.uk if you have any questions about the event.
